INSPIRING & EMPOWERING INSIGHTS

We all have to eat, and the food industry is big business with wide-ranging implications across many arenas. Because agriculture is controlled by a handful of multinational corporations, the priority to maximize profits often conflicts with what is best for human and planetary health. In many ways, our food production and consumption practices are broken or on the brink of failure. They are inhumane, socially unjust, environmentally unsound and unsustainable.

Viable, achievable solutions to these immense challenges exist, and the emerging consensus is that regenerative organic agriculture is the key to preserve human health and help solve the climate crisis. The time is right to make positive changes to the way we grow, distribute and consume food. This article delves into the problems we are facing as well as the many solutions available to us.

Despite regulations and safety protocols, toxins are in the water we drink, the food we eat and the air we breathe. We can take measures to reduce the assault and protect our health.

Learning to manage autism requires a multidimensional approach, including food and nutrition. A nutritious diet can help manage behavioral problems, health risks and quality of life for kids with autism.

Q&A with Dr. Mark Hyman

Integrative & Functional

Nutrition Academy

With a relapse rate of upwards of 50% and the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric disorder, anorexia nervosa presents today’s mental health clinicians with a significant and daunting challenge.

Traditional treatments for anorexia prioritize psychology and BMI restoration and tend to omit considerations of biology, as well as the connections between malnutrition and brain function. As 100% of anorexia patients are malnourished, these mainstream treatment models are fundamentally incomplete.

In this seminar, Dr. James Greenblatt will present an evidence-based, integrated biological model of anorexia treatment that prioritizes nutritional repletion. He will review research linking essential nutrient deficiencies, brain function, and anorexia symptoms with a focus on zinc, B vitamins, and essential fatty acids. He will also explore etiologic contributions of Celiac disease and gut dysbiosis, and how digestion optimization may improve therapeutic outcomes. Learn more and register here.
